Local High School joins Aging Agency to Assist with Medicare D Enrollment Events


The Mechanicsburg Area Senior High School National Honor Society is partnering with Cumberland County Aging and Community Services Apprise program to help Medicare beneficiaries compare and enroll in Medicare D programs. It is important that Medicare beneficiaries assess their current drug plan to determine whether it will meet their cost and coverage needs for 2010. Open Enrollment for Medicare D Prescription Drug Plans begins November 15, 2009 and ends December 31, 2009. Medicare urges beneficiaries to make a change by December 11, 2009 so enrollment can be completed by January 1, 2010.

MASH National Honor Society and Cumberland County Aging and Community Services Apprise are hosting two evening sessions to provide Medicare beneficiaries the opportunity to sit down with an Apprise counselor. The dates are November 17th and December 8th from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Mechanicsburg Area Senior High School, 500
S. Broad St., Mechanicsburg. Persons interested in having a drug plan comparison completed during this special evening enrollment event or for other dates, times and locations in Cumberland County please call the Apprise program at Cumberland County Aging and Community Services, 1-888-697-0371 ext. 6110 or 717-240-6110 during regular business hours for an appointment time.
